“Birds, flies and insects were reported around the food.”

Mrs D was looking forward to spending her 30th wedding anniversary in Egypt with a group of 12 family and friends. Unfortunately, the memories were ruined by illness, which affected not only Mrs D but all 12 members of the party. The illness began with nausea, stomach cramps and diarrhoea, eventually requiring Mrs D to purchase re-hydration sachets from the resort pharmacy.
An appointment with her GP in the UK was also booked on return to the UK. Undercooked, recycled food was served on more than one occasion to the party in the hotel restaurant, and birds, flies and insects were also reported around the food. This holiday was certainly not the ideal wedding anniversary that had been hoped for.
